Mindful Counseling & Coaching
All are welcome in my office!
As a licensed, nationally-certified professional counselor, I can help you with anxiety, life transitions and depression. I am a holistic counselor who uses positive psychology to help you make room for difficult emotions, manage stress effectively and live the life you want. I have experience in hospitals, social services agencies and family clinics - in each of these settings I have developed a caring approach that focuses on your healing and empowerment. I specialize in LGBTQI (and non labeling) clients. I am listed as a mental health provider through True Colors, Sexual Minority Youth & Family Services of Connecticut.
Through Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) you can achieve relief and happiness. You can recover from traumas that adversely affect you. Trauma is any event that causes high emotional distress having a long lasting negative effect on a person. These experiences can be processed in session in a safe, supportive environment.
I have a variety of approaches in my counselor tool-box. I offer therapy utilizing mindfulness, meditation, art and writing. Talk therapy and practical problem solving will also be valuable in our sessions together. I see our relationship as the primary healing tool - leading toward your personal empowerment and fulfillment.

Rates
My fee is $150 per session. I offer a sliding scale fee and free phone consultation. Sessions generally run between 50 minutes and 1 hour.
Insurance
I am an out-of-network provider and I do not accept insurance or process claims. However, depending on your insurance plan, my services may be covered in full or in part by your health insurance or employee benefit plan. Please check your coverage carefully by asking the following questions:
Do my behavioral/mental health insurance benefits cover out-of-network providers?
What is my deductible and has it been met?
How many sessions per year does my health insurance cover?
What is the coverage amount per therapy session?
Is approval required from my primary care physician?
At the end of each month, I will provide you with an invoice with all of the information you need to make a claim or obtain reimbursement from your flexible spending account.
Payment
Payment is requested at time of service. I prefer payment by check, although I will accept cash, credit, or debit card.
Cancellation Policy
I respect your time, and ask that you respect mine. If I make a scheduling mistake and miss an appointment, your next session will be on me. If you miss an appointment without providing me with 24 hours notice, you may be responsible for paying for the length of session booked.
